Emiel Regis & Dettlaff van der Eretein. The vampires of The Witcher world.
Ever since I finished The Witcher 3's "Blood and Wine", I had this stuck in my mind.
Even though both of them are vampires and friends in a way, both of them are led by fate on such different paths in their life.
Regis is... happy in a way. He's living a rather happy life for a wampire. He befriends many, even befriends a witcher, deeply. He's a calm, collected, gentle soul. With no issues, nor problems with hiding his real self among humans. Even though someone might call him names, he doesn't seem to take it too seriously and deeply and lives on happily.
While Dettlaff... Dettlaff is all but calm and collected. He ends up betrayed by the only person he learns to love and finds out she only used him as a dangerous tool for her revenge. As if he wasn't uncivilized already, now his mind is one large, open wound and if he was uncivilized before, now he's totally mad and twisted with pain.
God damn it Dettlaff, just get together with Regis and be happy! XD
