Two Different Sons by Sapphiresenthiss Two Different Sons by Sapphiresenthiss
I'm pretty sure most of us have heard about female dogs feeding infant tigers, lions, wolves and other orphaned cubs.
But have you ever heard of a female cat feeding a baby fox that is 3x the size of her own cub?

I rescued this 2 week old silver fox from a fur farm yesterday.
He just opened his eyes and can barely crawl around. I'm still waiting for a puppy milk to arrive, so my cat, Princess Sophie was my only option to save him, as she is now raising her own cub.
And she didn't refuse :)

Here you can watch a video of Sophie feeding the fox cub with her milk: www.youtube.com/watch?v=exCXNH…;

It's such good thing what you're doing. The fact that this cat is nursing the fox is a miracle. And the fact that people are saying that you can't do it , but you're not letting their hate get to you is wonderful. So more power to you! And good luck with the baby fox.

adorable. soon i'll be getting a kitten, of course, the female dog would most likely take care of it and assure that the other dogs don't attempt to harm it.

also, what is all the fuss about with everyone else? its not like the little cub is going to die with you, we know you're extremely capable of looking after animals.
like, cats; birds; dogs; reptiles; mice. heck, how different could a fox cub be?

you can just ignore the other comments and keep on feeding the cute lil silver foxy. <3

I think this is very touching, though I am baffled by how many people haven't actually read your description.
All the people that keep telling you how to do it like you don't know how to take care of it...

The fact that your cat is even feeding the fox is pretty rare as it take the right temperament and a certain window in the hormones that makes them accepted.

I feel for you that you've got this hassle and people are trying to be all high and mighty, but keep going sweetie - you're doing great.
P.s. I love how you're being bantered but not being congratulated for saving a Fox from a fur farm... Well done

Lol, I know, people can be pretty annoying sometimes.
As I said - I raised more baby animals, even from the very edge of death, than many trolls can count to.
One time I got a baby snake that was almost starved to death - from a pet store where they KNEW a lot about reptiles.
After two weeks spent under my care, the baby snake's weight doubled. Surely every "person who knows nothing" would be able to do this, no?

Wow, you're like a miracle  to the special few animals that you find :)
That's lovely to hear that he was fine afterwards <3 Bless him~

I've only ever found a baby Dove before that had fallen out his nest and wandered. He stayed with me till he was strong enough and in my house slowly built up his wing strength and then he flew into some gardens near my house when ready~ I just don't think some people would've even bothered to help him, let alone know how to look after a sick animal if they found one...

Hi there. Sorry to bother you, I was just linked to this by a concerned friend and wanted to see what the fuss was about. It's really cool that your kitty has taken to the kit, but a fox probably isn't going to do very well nursing on a cat. I'm sure you've already researched how to take care of the little guy, but if not, here's a couple of links that might be helpful to you: www.wildliferehabilitators.org… www.ehow.com/how_8638575_care-…
You could also call your local vet if you run into any problems or have questions. A lot of vets won't charge you just to answer basic questions, and they might be able to give you better information than what's available online. I don't know how you acquired this fox, but you'll probably also want to be very careful if it wasn't through strictly legal means. I don't know what the laws are where you live, but the last thing you want is the cops knocking on your door with a search warrant for a stolen fox.
Wishing you the best of luck taking care of the little guy, and hopefully all turns out for the best. :)

Lol, all of my local vets would just shrug.
I know, I already bought a special milk for pups, it was only for two days until the milk arrived ;)
It is legal to keep a fox in my country.
