In mine and friend's RP Joker actually accepts Batman's offer. He grows attached to Batman in ways he's capable to get attached. Even tries to change, truly.
But well... What has once been broken, cannot be fixed, in some cases not fully, in some cases can't be fixed at all. He tried, he failed. And thus feels like losing the little happiness he's gained by bonding with Batman. At that point he's gone pretty much more insane than ever before, seeing himself fail and afraid to lose what he's gained, as, in his own way, he cares for his new relationship with Batman.
I've been there, too, I went through my own piece of hell on earth.
You try to change, you go through many little steps, then boom, something bad happens which reminds you of the past, and there you are, back at square one.
Sometimes it's unbelievable how some tragic events can change a person into something they'd never become if not for said events...

Your comics have so much feeling into them and when your inspire by something either rp or video clip it makes it more awesome, and this seems like a very intense scene in the rp. I love your artwork it is awesome!
